TAP (Temporary Arts Project Ltd) is an independent artist-led project space sited in a Victorian water works building converted into artists' studios, an exhibition space and screening room.
The studios support 14 artists working within a wide range of media, from performance to painting, sculpture to sound. The space provides a platform for experimentation and critical discussion to help drive individual artist practices via the support of a creative community. We also provide dark room and print room facilities for studio artists and associate members, with taster sessions, refresher courses and workshops available to the public.
The studios sit alongside our gallery space which accommodates an ever-changing programme of exhibitions, community events, workshops and artist residencies. The White Bus also regularly screen 16mm and 35mm British films from their comprehensive archive in the screening room.
TAP has also built relationships with the local university and colleges, which shows our commitment not only to recognised artists but to the emerging talent in our community.
Membership provides crucial support for the artists exhibition, talks and all other programme and events we run.
