Foundation Membership

The ENAS Foundation Studios have given generously of their time, energy, expertise and enthusiasm in the development and continuation of the network. ENAS membership is free for these studios until March 2016.

They are:

Cuckoo Farm, Colchester

Gatehouse Arts, Harlow

Hadleigh Old Fire Station, Hadleigh

ACME High House Studios, Purfleet

The Hive, Chelmsford

Parndon Mill, Harlow

Slack Space, Colchester

Temporary Arts Project (TAP), Southend

Each studio has representatives, usually studio artists who may also act as their chairpersons, who meet regularly to discuss the operations of the network from marketing to business to commissioning and exhibiting, and how to take each of these strands forward. To keep ENAS members up to date with the topics discussed in these meetings, we will publish key decisions and developments on the news pages of this website.

You can find out more about each of these Foundation Studios, their representatives, artists and the ways that they work by visiting the Studios pages.

Each studio has a distinct identity that contributes to building a picture of how artists, working across, within and occasionally on top of different mediums operate within their spaces. You can find out more about individual artists in these studios by visiting the Artists' webpages

Foundation Studios will benefit from:

-           a free range of artist talks and networking opportunities

-           free opportunities to apply for ENAS funded commissions/ residencies

-           free opportunities to sell and exhibit work through ENAS events

-           free participation in ENAS Open Studios

Is Foundation Studio membership the right option for me?

ENAS will publish details of studio spaces available on this website. Some Foundation Studios also run associate schemes. These tend to support new graduates or artists who do not wish to have studio space but who benefit in other ways. Foundation Studios who offer these schemes will publish details on their individual Studio webpages

If you take up a studio space with one of the Foundation Studios between March 2014 and March 2016, your ENAS membership will be free until the end of this period.
